CRAFTERS from Abergavenny say the future of the fair is under threat unless their space in the Market Hall is guaranteed for the next five years.

In a letter to Abergavenny Town Council representatives of the Abergavenny Craft Fair say they are fighting to keep the nine days a year that they are allocated in the Market Hall, compared to the 145 days allocated to retail traders.

The days are set annually by Monmouthshire council but the 60 crafters want this to be agreed for the next five years to secure the fair's future.

Other concerns include problems in loading and unloading their goods due to retail traders trading outside the top car park.

Members decided to refer the matter to Monmouthshire County Council.
