Two vehicles were involved in a road traffic collision on the A40 between Abergavenny and Crickhowell yesterday which saw one man taken to hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

The accident occurred around 2pm at Dan y Gollen, Crickhowell, between a white articulated lorry and a beige Vauxhall Zafira.

The road was closed by emrgency services and the 50 year old driver of the Zafira was taken to Nevill Hall Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Diesel from the lorry had leaked over the road and diversions were put in place while the recovery team cleared the vehicles and the oil spill from the site.

The road was re-opened at around 5pm.
