Kirsty Williams AM, Cllr John Morris, Crickhowell Town Councillors and Llangattock community councillors have met with officials from NatWest, after their decision to remove their cashpoint from Crickhowell.

Commenting Kirsty Williams, Welsh Lib Dem AM for Brecon and Radnorshire, said:“It was very important to meet with NatWest to discuss this terrible decision, particularly as it is partly based on the incorrect information that a business that manufactures cashpoints in the town is an active ATM. It’s also based on usage figures from before the closure of Lloyds. The officials agreed to look at this “new information” and reconsider the decision.”

“I will continue working with the community to try and ensure the town has convenient access to cash.”

Cllr John Morris, Welsh Lib Dem Cllr for Crickhowell, added: “After deserting their customers by closing the Crickhowell branch, the very least NatWest could do is keep the cashpoint they promised to leave. The fact this decision was made with incorrect and out of date information is even more worrying. NatWest’s officials will have left the meeting with no doubt about the importance of this cashpoint to the town and I hope they will come to their senses."
