A bestselling author who has rubbed Lycra-ed shoulders with Sir Bradley Wiggins heads up the next edition of a new cultural forum in Abergavenny. ??Cycling writer William Fotheringham joins Conversations at the Chapel on December 5, to talk about the sport he has covered since 1988.

His Sunday Times bestseller, a biography of cycling legend Eddy Merckx, hit number one, whilst his first full-length book, ‘Put Me Back on My Bike’ sold 100,000 copies.

Mr Fotheringham, The Guardian’s cycling correspondent, has been writing about cycling since leaving university in 1988. The talk, loose in format, will unearth stories about his obsession, the greats of the past, working with Tour de France champion and Olympian gold-medallist, Sir Bradley Wiggins, and the stars of a cleaned-up sport eager to shed the skin of its dope-scandal past.

The Chapel bookshop and bar will be open all evening. Online tickets available – [email protected] Booking fee £1.

Tickets - Adult £10 – Students £5 - available at The Art Shop and at the Chapel. Booking Essential. Call 01873 736430/852690
