ABERGAVENNY lad Elis Mostyn has been selected to represent the Samurai GB Team to participate in the Samurai Goodwill Championships in Berlin. 

The tournament is held every October and switches between Berlin and the UK. Young Elis will be competing in Kata and Kumite events. 

This is the third consecutive year that Elis, who has been studying karate since 2008 and is now a purple belt, has been selected for the team.  

Elis and his family would like to thank Patrick Meadows of Fonseca and Partners for his kind sponsorship and Deri View Primary for holding a 'Wear What You Like Day' to also help raise funds for the squad. 

Also many thanks go to family, friends and neighbours for donations towards the raffle and car boot sales.
