THE Brewery Yard regeneration scheme, which cost Monmouthshire County Council almost £4million, has won two prestigious awards.
Both awards have come from well respecting planning organisations.
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Wales announced the Brewery Yard as a highly commended winner in the regeneration category and it was also recognised by the Planning Inspectorate Wales.
County Councillor Bob Greenland, cabinet member for Modernisation, Enterprise and Communications said, "Members of Monmouthshire County Council are proud to have delivered an excellent scheme on the entrance of the town.
"By winning these awards from The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Planning Inspectorate Wales it shows that it is not just us who recognise that.
Events Manager of RICS Wales, Emma Georgiades said, "The standard of entries for this year's RICS awards was extremely high which is great news to hear in today's economic climate.
"Each of our award winners are very deserving projects which have exceeded expectations in their sustainable features, benefit to their community, regeneration or conservation."
During a recent full council meeting of Monmouthshire County Council, the award was presented to regeneration officer Colin Phillips who spearheaded the scheme.
