THE Catholic church community in Abergavenny has been asked to pray for Bella Pritchard, a six-year-old girl who died from head injuries after a mantelpiece collapsed at her home in Beaconsfield.
The website of Our Lady and Saint Michael's Roman Catholic Church asks parishioners to 'please pray for the soul of a little girl, Isabella Pritchard, who died in a tragic accident last weekend in Beaconsfield.
The message explains that the girl's grandparents and family live in Our Lady and St Michael's parish and adds: "May Our Lady of Sorrows be especially close to them at this time."
Joanna Pardon, headmistress at Maltman's Green School said that Bella, as she was known at school, was a very 'special girl' with an infectious love of life. Her school friends chose to wear pink to honour Bella's memory at the end of term.
Det Insp Sharon Hill from Amersham CID said that Bella's death was a tragic incident.
An inquest into Bella's death was opened on July 12 and adjourned for an investigation to be carried out. Thames Valley Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious.
