ABERGAVENNY born kickboxer Chris Morgan won the 72.5kg Commonwealth title at Weston-Supermare last Saturday after a physically grueling 10 round fight which saw him emerge with a unanimous points decision over his opponent - the highly rated Jason Curtis, of Jester's Gym, Blackburn.
27-year-old Morgan's latest achievement is to date his crowning glory in a career that has gone from strength to strength.
On November 30, Morgan won a five round prestige fight after his planned British Title fight had fallen through.
Morgan fought Danny Price from St Helens and forced four standing eight counts/scored four knockdowns and eventually won a unanimous points decision.
Morgan, a second degree black belt with the Modern Karate Kickboxing Association who currently train at The Fight Academy Wales gym in Pontyclun, adds the Commonwealth title to an impressive list of achievements which include Welsh, English and three British titles at different weights.
Morgan believes his wins are a result of the continued support of his trainers Alan Morgan, John Warren, Russell Newton, Scott Carey and would like to take this opportunity to thank them.
Morgan will now take a well earned rest before focussing on his next fight in July which will be another British title clash.
