CC ABERGAVENNY held their annual Cyclo-Cross Weekend at Brecon's Penlan Sports Fields on the weekend.
Blessed with good weather, this premier venue Welsh course was in ideal condition for good racing.
On the Saturday the Welsh School Championships took place and attracted over one hundred riders coming from all over Wales, with the largest contingent coming from Flint.
There were many good performances by local school pupils, notably the performances by the Beckensdale family who took home three medals between them.
Golds Medals were awarded to U10 Boy Nathan Ford (Govilon Primary School),
U10 Girl Megan James (Abergavenny Catholic School), U12 Boy Ben Beckensdale (Cantref Primary School), and U12 Girl Ffion James (Abergavenny Catholic School).
The promoting club's Callum Nichols (Hay-on wye CP School) gained Bronze in the U8 boys, and Libby Morgan (St Albans RC School) took the Bronze in the Girls U16 race.
Sunday was Round Two of the Welsh Cyclo-Cross League which attracted a record number of over one hundred and thirty cyclists who signed on to race.
Many youngsters present on Saturday returned on Sunday for more of the same and good results were achieved by all local riders.
