Gwent Police are investigating two burglaries after a prestigious car was stolen from one address and valuables from another last Monday.

A white BMW 120D was taken from a house in Lower Raglan Road, Pen-y-clawdd, after the owner’s keys were taken whilst they were upstairs. The thief went through an unlocked patio door between 11am and 1pm.

Residents at Twyn-Wenallt in Gilwern said they returned home to find a tall man running away from the back of the house. Televisions and computers were stolen after a patio door was smashed through.

A green vehicle with a number plate similar to R*** UKJ was on their drive, before quickly speeding off. 

The police are asking for anyone who has any information to call 101, quoting Log Number 240 15/08/16 (Pen-y-clawdd) or 296 15/08/16 (Gilwern).

A spokeswoman said, “Please remember to always lock your doors, even if you are at home.

"Many people store their car keys near the front door in a cupboard or on a side table. Please take a moment to re-think this and put your keys in a different place, for example upstairs.”
