GWENT Police are appealing for witnesses after several rural properties were targeted by thieves.

The incidents happened overnight on Monday/Tuesday, June 8/9 when numerous rural dwellings including barns and sheds were broken into and smaller hand sized tools were stolen such as chainsaws, strimmers and welders.

Police say the offences took place in Penperlleni, Nantyderry and Penpergwm.

Locks were cut to these properties and items were taken illegally including an Ivor Williams trailer stolen from a field in the Llanwenarth area.

The trailer was full of tools used to put up fences and was last seen making its way towards Brecon.

There is a chance it was being towed by a land cruiser.

The police log numbers 552/77 and 544 relate to these crimes.

Log number 79 relates to the 8’ x 5’ Ivor Williams trailer theft.
