The man and woman from the USA had been walking above Craig y Cilau nature reserve, Llangattock, when night fell and they realised they were lost and unable to get down off the cliffs.
The call out came at 9pm and the team sent out search parties. The walkers were located and brought down to safety and the team was back at their Abergavenny base around midnight.
There were two call-outs for the team over the Bank Holiday. A 10-year-old boy was rescued from Table Mountain, near Crickhowell after suffering a lower leg injury. He was taken to Nevill Hall Hospital.
On Tuesday, Gwent Police asked for help in finding a missing 19-year-old in the Tintern area. The man was found on Wynd Cliff crag with cuts, bruises and very cold. He was assisted off by team personnel to a waiting ambulance.
