Emergency services are at the scene of a collision on Hereford Road, Abergavenny.

It’s understood that two cars collided on the road at near the Newlands at Mardy and several people have been injured.

An eye witness said that several people had been helped from one of the cars and that several children were thought to have been travelling in one of the vehicles.

It’s understood that local residents and staff from Mardy Park helped the injured until emergency services arrived on the scene.The road remained closed until late into the evening as accident investigators attended the scene.
