Thieves broke into Abergavenny’s WH Smith store before pilfering cigarettes and running off, police have said.

The offenders forced the shop’s front door open before raiding the cigarette counter, inside the front till display.

A police spokeswoman said, “At 7.45am today we received a report of a burglary at WH Smiths in Abergavenny. 

“The burglary is believed to have happened at approximately 5.30am (Tuesday, April 3).  The offenders gained access after forcing the front door of the shop and proceeded to take a quantity of cigarettes before making off.”
