ASSEMBLY Member, Nick Ramsay, was pleased to present ten new footballs to Mardy FC's Malcolm 'Macky' Skinner earlier this week.
The footballs were given to Nick earlier this year by McDonalds as part of their sponsorship of grassroots football in the UK so that Nick could pass them on to a club in his constituency.
Speaking today Nick said, "I was very pleased that Mr Skinner was keen to accept the new footballs for Mardy Football Club which is thriving with over 200 children and some 30 coaches.
"The donation of the footballs by McDonalds to mark the tenth anniversary of supporting football at grassroots level was very welcome and I know the children who are members of the Mardy club will make good use of them.
"With Welsh football going from strength to strength at the moment I'm keen to see the sport continue to thrive locally. The work our local organisers and coaches put in to support youth football is essential and needs support. Who knows, we could have a future Ryan Giggs in one of our local youth football teams."
