CRICKHOWELL Netball club's 15-year-old Georgi Wood recently represented Wales in the netball European U17 Championships held in Scotland.

Georgi travelled to Glasgow with the Welsh squad last weekend where they played Northern Ireland, Scotland and England. The competition also saw teams from Switzerland and Gibraltar, competing in the development section.

The Welsh team fought hard and regained their Silver Medal after only losing to England.

Crickhowell netball club were delighted when Georgi was chosen to represent Wales and gain her first International Pin plus two caps.

This has been a fabulous year for the club who also are currently promotion favourites and sitting top of Division Three in the Cwmbran league. The club are also in line to become the Powys Sports Club of the year.

The club is constantly attracting new players and encourage anyone interested in joining to visit their Face book page.
