Blaenavon Blues - 1
Clydach Wasps - 0
BLAENAVON Blues took maximum points from their two games this week beating Clydach Wasps 1-0 in mid week, followed by a 5-3 win over Newport side Albion Rovers.
Blues started brightly against Clydach when skipper Mike Waite's' superb volley hit the post with the Clydach keeper well beaten.
After 25 minutes Steve Whites clever back heal played Jake Bull in, the little striker found the far corner of the net with a fine shot.
Bull found himself one on one with the visitors keeper another twice before half time, lack of control let him down for the first chance, and the second he narrowly fired wide with the keeper beaten.
Illtyd Caddick was having a fine game and his corner was cleared off the line by an overworked Clydach defender.
In a rare Clydach attack Lee Jones made a brave save at the foot of a Wasps forward.
Early in the second period Jamie Brankley found Dylan Mason with an astute ball, the young strikers shot was deflected wide.
With time running out Clydach came more into the game, Jack Moore made an important challenge with the Wasps forward about to shoot.
Clydach were close to an equaliser, Jones at full stretch to turn an effort wide.
A good all-round team performance with Brinkley having an outstanding game in midfield.

Darren Harris made a great run out of defence, his fine through ball was brilliantly lifted over the advancing keeper by Mason levelling the scores at 2-2.
Mason completed his hat trick before half time to put his side into the lead for the first time.
Albion came at the Blues in the second half and Ryan Huish made a great tackle when the equaliser seemed imminent.

This game was not over and Albion scored again 4-3.

Jones kick down field was volleyed on the full by substitute Jake Bull for a sensational goal.
It was a great win for Blues, with every player doing what was asked of him, special praise for 16 year old Dylan Mason with his second hat trick and eight goals from four games.
