ABERGAVENNY RC stormed the Podium at Welsh Cyclocross League Pembrey to take the winning spot in three events.

Held on Armistice day, organizing club Bynea CC built an innovative poppy design into the course layout and used the even to raise money for the Royal British Legion.

In the Youth races, Abergavenny RC started strongly with Under 14 Emyr Truelove taking the Youth race ahead of Under 16 winner Jon Pearce (also Abergavenny).

Abergavenny RC’s Simon Loose bagged overall victory in the Vet50s and the Junior/Senior men’s race was a closely contested battle, with Abergavenny RC junior Will Truelove continuing his excellent winter to emerge as overall victor ahead of Ben Nott.

All in all, a very impressive day for the South Wales club.

Also on the same weekend at the HSBC national trophy series in Crawley, Ffion James took third place in the Women’s Elite race.

Abergavenny RC are hosting the Welsh Cyclocross championships at Abergavenny leisure centre on Sunday, December 2. Racing starts from 9:50am for the under six age category and then there are races all morning for all youth, women, veteran categories with the senior mens’ title race taking place at 2pm.

Abergavenny RC host weekly Saturday adult beginners coaching from 9am and kids coaching sessions at the leisure centre Red Gra from 10.30am till midday.
