Abergavenny Bowls Club began their season last Saturday, opening the green for 2014 with the inaugural bowl being bowled by Club President Bill Cooke. This was followed by a 'friendly' match between club members as a precursor to the league games which begin on Saturday. The bowling was followed by a buffet tea which was enjoyed by over forty club members. This was kindly provided by Nevill Ladies section of the club. Several new members, both male and female, were welcomed during the afternoon and we wish them every success and enjoyment in their future bowling. The club are keen to welcome new members. This Saturday the club play an EMBA game against Chepstow at Avenue Road and travel to Pontymister Athletic for a GBL fixture.
