SWITCHING partners was no problem for Raglan Parc seniors' former captain Stuart Bradley when he recorded two victories in a week.

In the first match at home against Burghill, Bradley's winning partner was Ray York in the team's overall home victory by five matches to three.

Other winners were Captain John Duthie playing with Brian Burrell, Ron Thomas and Gerry Pugh, and Peter Perrett playing with Jim True. The final point was secured by the partnerships of Derek Watson playing with Gwynne Jones and John Scannell and Neil Sansom when each pair halved their match.

Later in the week playing against a strong Forest Hills side away Bradley was again successful, this time playing with seasoned campaigner Lionel Watkins.

Unfortunately, true to away form, Raglan lost the overall match five games to three with other notable winners being Neil Sansom partnering Don Jones. Further half points were secured by Mike Williams with Derek Watson and Des Williams playing with Jim True.

The Senior's competitive Inter-district tournament was again a close run affair with Usk running out eventual winners against the five other districts represented.

RAGLAN Parc Golf Club Seniors enjoyed their best away result of the year when they won by four matches to two at Thornbury.

Captain John Duthie was naturally pleased with the result and explained "We always enjoy visiting other clubs and winning away is the icing on the cake".

Winning pairs were Wyndham Tranter with Martyn Richardson, John Phelps with Gary French, Alan Mason and Kenvyn Jones, Neil Sansom and Des Williams. The final half point was secured by Captain John Duthie partnering Brian Jones.

Sadly Raglan were brought down to earth when losing away at Woodlake Park. However, Captain John Duthie was a relieved man when the pairing of the two Johns - Phelps and Smalley - managed to secure a hard fought halved match.
