HAVING lost to Caldicot 'B' the previous week, Abergavenny squash club's 'C' team were well beaten by Caldicot 'A', losing all five matches!
The only bright spark was Tim Woodier's performance, who lost 3-2, having been 2-1 up at one stage. Enough said.

Mitchell Lawrence (3) lost 3-1;
Chris Owen (4) lost 3-0;
Matthew Taylor (5) lost 3-0.
Meanwhile the 'A' team had another comfortable win when they beat Cardiff 'B' by four matches to one, thus maintaining their third position. The only casualty on the night was Neil Main, who was returning from injury somewhat prematurely and struggled to contain his opponent. The top four players only dropped one set between them.

Gareth Hughes-Jones (4) won 3-0;
Neil Main (5) lost 3-0.
The 'B' team won a close match this week by three matches to two. Mike Logan and Karl Whiteman won comfortably, but Chris Phelps and Ellis Lawrence both lost tight matches. It was left to the ever dependable Gary Lawrence to squeeze out a victory, winning in five sets. The team remains third in the league.
