WHEN Sir Harry Llewellyn and his famous horse Foxhunter won a Gold medal for the British equestrian team at the Helsinki Olympics in 1952, little did they imagine it would be 60 years before Team GB would come up trumps in the show-jumping medal stakes again.
Last Monday at London 2012, a British team finally ended the Olympic show-jumping Gold medal drought which has hounded them since Sir Harry and Foxhunter jumped for glory in 1952.
In a dramatic finale at Greenwich Park which saw them just pipping the Netherlands to the post, the team of Nick Skelton, Ben Maher and Peter Charles finally repeated Sir Harry's feat of 60 years ago,
An achievement which no doubt would be greatly appreciated high up on the Blorenge mountain where the ashes of Sir Harry and the bones of his beloved Foxhunter lie.
