ABERGAVENNY girl Shelly Kelly dug deep and went the extra mile on the weekend when she run the famous Three Peaks challenge twice in one day.
What's more the plucky pioneer completed the Three Peaks double in a impressive time of ten hours and 40 minutes.
Shelly, who has blazed a trail through the triple majesty of the Blorenge, Sugarloaf and Skirrid many times in the past, came up with the novel idea of really pushing her limits and breaking records by doing the Three Peaks challenge twice in the same day to raise money for Cancer Research.
To date Shelly, who works in Abergavenny's Greggs, has raised £840 for charity and told the Chronicle, "I would like to thank everybody who sponsored me, including family and friends and especially all the Greggs customers who gave so generously.
"I would also like to especially thank my husband Tony Kelly for being at the checkpoints throughout my second loop and for getting me involved in these type of challenges in the first place. If it wasn't for him, I would have never kept going.
"I would also like to thank the mountain rescue team for all their support throughout the challenge.
"Who knows, after the success of this year, perhaps I'll be up for the Three Peaks triple in 2015."
If you sponsored Shelly and have yet to donate, please pop the proceeds in an envelope with your name and Shelly's on it and take it to Abergavenny's Greggs.
