KHS student Issy Parry Jones has been selected to run for Wales hot on the heels of her blistering performance at the Welsh Schools National Cross-Country Championships.

Held at Penlan Playing Fields, Brecon, some exciting competitions were anticipated in the race programme, in which selection for the teams to compete at the S.I.A.B Schools International, in Dublin on March 21 was at stake.

This was the final event of the Welsh Schools Winter Programme and the course was in excellent condition, firm and fast. The day produced some strong performances. Winner of race seven, middle girls (years 10 and 11) saw 80 starters. Ceri Hughes (Syr Thomas Jones Eryri Year 11) was too strong for the rest of the field finishing 30 seconds clear of KHS student Issy, who has now been selected to run for Wales at Dublin.
