ABERGAVENNY born Ken Davies was recently inducted into the Newport RFC Hall of Fame.

Ken began his rugby career with Abergavenny RFC, before moving to Newport in 1973 where he was known as the ’Flying Farmer’ due to his farming background.

Ken quickly established himself as a first choice wing, making 217 appearances and scoring 111 tries. He played his last game against Swansea in 1980.

Ken was a hugely popular player for the Black and Ambers and a fans’ favourite.

His strong running, elusive pace and hard tackle style made him one of the most respected and feared players of his era.
