Abergavenny RFC - 66

Chepstow RFC - 10

ON a lovely spring Saturday, Abergavenny entertained Chepstow in their last home league of the season and they certainly put on a show.

Aber made a few changes from the previous week with Matt Charles returning to join knight and James in the front row. Will Evans slotted back into the second row with Luke Williams. Joe Symonds started at number six with Dan Beavan and Josh Davies in the back row.

Rhod Webster and Rhob Connick were at half-back, Ryan Williams partnered Dan Smith in the centre, and Will Williams, Lloyd Holder and Sam Vaughan made up the back three.

Chepstow started the game positively with plenty of possession but were unable to get out of their own half due to Aber’s tight defence.

The ball was eventually turned over and centre Dan Smith scored Aber’s first try. More tries soon followed by Will Williams, Ryan Williams, and two by flanker Dan Beavan as Aber secured the bonus point by half-time.

Soon after the break Aber extended their lead with tries from Matt Charles, Rhodri Webster and winger Sam Vaughan.

The home side now rung the changes with Jack Williams, Jay Adams, and Nathan Thomas coming on in the pack and Ryan Joyce and Gareth Beavan in the backs. Lloyd Holder and Jay Adams scored the last two tries to make it a rampant 66-10 victory.

Next week Abergavenny are away to Blackwood stars. All support will be appreciated as the side push on for promotion.
