Crickhowell RFC - 19

WITH several of their young stars unavailable Crickhowell still managed to complete the double when they travelled to play Cwmcarn United for the second time this season.

The pitch was heavy and did neither side any favours. Crickhowell were unlucky to have two tries disallowed early on, one for a knock on over the line and the second was deemed to have been held up.

The visitors managed to break the deadlock shortly before half time when No. 8 Ryan James once again got his name on the scoresheet with a well-worked try.

The second half saw jake Powell-Thomas touch down near the corner flag when Cwmcarn were unable to prevent a rolling maul resulting from a lineout. The try was unconverted.

Before the final whistle Crickhowell were awarded a penalty try when another rolling maul was brought down illegally, Rees converting.

Next Saturday the action will once more centre on Parc Broyd when Old Tyleryans RFC are the league visitors. Prior to the match a Vice-Presidents lunch is being held at the Dragon Inn, Crickhowell ,12.15pm at a cost of £10.
