Abergavenny Harlequins RFC - 36
Usk RFC - 14
THE Abergavenny Harlequins are through to the final of the Ivor Jones cup after beating Usk Seconds 36-14.
The Quins played accurate direct rugby right from the start and soon scored three tries from Dan Beavan, James Spooner and Rudi Lewis to go 15-0 up.
A superb scrummage from the Abergavenny eight forced the referee to award a penalty try. Captain Keiran Skinner kicked the conversion to give Abergavenny a 22-0 lead at half time.
After the interval Usk strengthened their side with substitutions, and by opting for passive scrums scored two good tries of their own.
The Harlequins responded to this with two further tries from Keiran Skinner and Ryan Joyce - both converted to comprehensively win the day for Abergavenny and secure a place in the Ivor Jones cup final.
