LAST Sunday Abergavenny Petanque Club held a fundraiser for the Welsh Petanque Team Who will be taking part in the World Championships in Italy this May.

It was organised by Abergavenny Petanque Club and Welsh team member Mathew Howells.

Sixty four players and 32 teams took part in the prelims during the morning and a knockout in the afternoon.

It was a enjoyable day despite the mixed elemental bag of winds, rain, hail and sunshine.

Howells would wish to thank all those who helped with the preparation of the piste, the donation of raffle prizes and preparation and serving of refreshments during the day.
