ABERGAVENNY Netball Club recently held their AGM and Awards evening at the King's Arms, Abergavenny.

After a successful season the 'A' team retain their place in the Premier division of the SE Wales League and the 'B' team also retain their place in the second division. The 'C' team also enjoyed a very successful season in the Wye Valley League.

The following awards were made:

A Team Player of the Year – Siobhan MacQuillan & Sian Binns

A Team Players' Player – Ffion Edwards

B Team Player of the Year – Hannah Morgan

B Team Players' Player – Victoria Price

C Team Player of the Year – Amanda Leaker

C Team Players' Player – Claire Powell

Best Emerging Player 2012 – Briony

Clubperson of the Year 2012 – Deb Gwilliam

The Club has been pleased to gain a lot of young new players this season and, as a result, will be resurrecting their Youth section from September. This will be for girls aged 11-16 and training will be held between 6.30-7.30 on Thursdays at Abergavenny Leisure Centre. Anyone interested should contact Rachel Jowitt on 07966227051.

Training for all teams re-starts on Thursday, August 16. The club are hoping to secure sponsorship for individual teams next season to purchase new kit etc, if you are an interested local business who may be interested in this, please contact Joanna Box on 07974746180.
