LLANFOIST Juniors FC have netted a generous grant worth £1496.70 courtesy of Sports Wales and the Monmouthshire Community Chest Scheme.

The grant, awarded to clubs which provide grassroots community sport facilities across Wales, was warmly welcomed by Llanfoist Juniors who provide quality football coaching and experience to over 30 children in the area.

Llanfoist Juniors have a dedicated team of six volunteer coaches who all possess their Football Association of Wales standard qualifications.

Currently the club has two age groups - the U8s and U9s.

Llanfoist Juniors FC Chairman, Justin Bailey, told the Chronicle, "The children really benefit from qualified coaching and our aim is to have at least one FAW accredited C Licence Coach per age group.

"Currently we have two coaches studying for their C Licence, which will be completed in mid 2014 and we'll continue this ethos going forward to ensure the children have the best opportunity to develop their skills at the brilliant facilities here in Llanfoist."

Bailey added, "The Community Chest Award has been vital in helping us to set up our new club by allowing us to purchase a great range of equipment as well as invest in quality coaching too."
