Abergavenny Squash Club’s ‘E’ team travelled to Newport to play the league leaders, and, not surprisingly had a tough match, losing 4-1.

Jason Hall managed a good win against a young female star of the future, and Tony Davies almost overcame a similar young male star of equivalent potential, just losing in five sets, but elsewhere only one further point was obtained. The team remain in seventh place.

The ‘D’ team entertained the tougher Monmouth side within the division, and maintained its form with a comprehensive 4-1 victory. Chris Owen cam unstuck against a very competent young opponent, but the rest of the side only lost one point between them! The team remain in second place.

The ‘C’ team entertained the stronger of the two Risca sides, and trounced it 5-0! Only two points were dropped in the entire match, and the team is trying very hard to obtain promotion, which is still looking difficult.

On the same night, the ‘B’ team travelled to Cardiff to play one of the lesser sides, but were given a very tough match, just coming through by three matches to two. Ed Leakey, Ellis Lawrence and Anthony Squire all won comfortably, thus enabling the victory and keeping the team in the promotion position of second place.
