ABERGAVENNY tennis ace Herbie McKenna-Morgan made his international debut earlier this month when he travelled to compete in the Narva Cup.
Held in Narva, an Estonian town on the Russian border, Herbie's first international tennis tournament featured players from countries such as Switzerland, Georgia, Russia, and Latvia. Herbie was one of only two boys there who were from Great Britain.
The standard was extremely high and Herbie had a tough opening match, finally losing to his opponent, older Belarusian boy, Artisom Cherkesau.
However, Herbie displayed both physical and mental strength in what was a hard fought game.
Herbie said, "Playing at this level as one of the youngest in my category was one of my tennis goals for 2013 and to visit Estonia for my first international tournament was a great experience."
