GOVILON's Gwent Central League side travelled to Cwmffrwdoer for a hard fought Langdon Cup match.

Govilon went ahead in the 29th minute after midfield stalwart Stuart Norman pushed the ball through the Cwmffrwdoer defence for Jake Heckles to run onto and slot neatly past the keeper.

Cwmffrwdoer equalised two minutes later after Scott Horsman slammed the ball into the top right corner of the net after forcing his way through the Govilon defence.

Cwmffrwdoer's Matthew Timbrell put his team ahead just before half time after receiving a cross from a disputed free kick and knocking it past the despairing Govilon keeper.

Govilon started quickly and strongly in the second half as stand in goalie Ashley Wilkins punted the ball up field only for all of the Cwmffrwdoer defence to miss it, leaving Jake Heckles to pounce on the free ball and score his second.

Jake showed his undoubted skill in the 56th minute, dancing past defenders to score his hat trick. Cwmffrwdoer's Matthew Timbrell leveled the score ten minutes later after a strong run down the left flank enabled him to beat the Govilon keeper.

After 90 minutes the match went to extra time and from a diagonal through ball from Aaron Rees, Jake Heckles beat the Cwmffrwdoer keeper, to put Govilon deservedly through to the next round.
