PLAYING their first match for weeks due to a combination of bad weather, Bosbury Seconds pulling out of the league and Ross thirds unable to raise a side. Glangrwyney seconds made it three wins out of four away to Bartestree thirds.

A victory which saw the Glang simultaneously revenge their defeat at the hands of Bartestree earlier this season as well as slide into top spot in Division Five of the Marches League.

Captain Colin Griffiths won the toss for the fourth time and duly inserted Bartestree on what looked to be a reasonable batting track.

Openers R. Fisher (20) and M. Fisher (41) faced bowlers Haydn Davies (one for 20 off eight) who bowled his usual tight spell and 15 year old Richard James (one for 27 off seven).

Bartestree's openers put on 51 for the first wicket before first change bowler Colin Griffiths (five for 29 off 12) initiated a dramatic collapse after taking a wicket with his first ball thanks to Rob Richards holding onto a splendid catch at mid-wicket.

Aided by further catches by Lewis Morgan and Richards, Griffiths put Bartestree in disarray at 92 for six.

Eddie Harding (three for 49 off 12) got in on the act, and was helped by catches from Morgan and Haydn Davies as Bartestree were all out in the 39th over.

Lewis Morgan and Rob Richards (55 not out) opened Glang's innings with Morgan soon departing. Jonny James (58 not out) joined Richards and both rolled back the years to bat excellently. They dispatched the ball with great aplomb and reached the total of 139 in the 43rd over for a splendid team win.
