Abergavenny Town Girls under 12s increased their lead at the top of the South Wales Women and Girls league on the weekend with two empathic victories over their closest rivals.

The team produced an outstanding display to beat Abertillery 3-0 in the first game with two goals from Ruby Gould and a fine solo effort from Chelleter Graham-Sawyers.

In the second game they beat Albion Rovers 3-0 with Macey McCann, Ruby Gould and Chelleter Graham-Sawyers all scoring.

The defensive trio of Bella Wilce, Cristyn Powell and Brooke Davies set their stall out from the start with some outstanding defending.

Midfielders Chelleter Graham-Sawyers, Sophie Engel and Mia Sherrard again controlled the middle of the park and set the platform for the strike force of Macey McCann, Carys Pond and Ruby Gould to create the opposition problems.

Keeper Katie Barker was called into action a little more this week, and showed fantastic bravery with two great stops.
