A HOCKEY player from Usk has been selected for the South East Wales Regional Under-14s squad.

Anna Leeke, a Year 9 pupil at Monmouth School for Girls, impressed during regional trials in Cwmbran.

Anna is among six Monmouth students who have been picked for the regional squad, who begin their campaign against Cardiff and Vale at Rougemont on Sunday (September 30).

During the season, the girls will also play fixtures against West Glamorgan and South Wales Valleys. All six Monmouth girls are members of Gwent Hockey Club.
