Llanelli Town FC - 5
Abergavenny Town FC - 2
DESPITE falling behind when Llanelli’s Jordan Follows outstripped Town’s defence to give the hosts an early lead, Aber fought back with two quick-fire goals just before half time.
First Craig Norman drove into box and fired past Morris in the Llanelli goal, and then Luke Lewis chipped him from way out on the left wing leaving their hosts trailing at the break.
In the second half Llanelli came close to equalising, striking Town’s cross bar twice in a matter of seconds, and Town themselves had a glorious chance to extend their lead, only for Sean Feeley to fire wide.
It took until the 83rd minute before Llanelli equalised when Chris Thomas was on hand to power home a header from a corner.
At 90 minutes Town looked as though they would be returning home with a point, but with six minutes of added time, Lee Trundle had other ideas and put Llanelli ahead in the 93rd minute when his free kick found the top corner of Aurelius’ net to put the Reds ahead for the second time.
Not satisfied with this Trundle went on a mazy left win run and scored again with a fierce drive low to Aurelius’ near post in the next minute, and produced a carbon copy in the sixth minute of added time as the Reds claimed an unlikely victory, to give Trundle a spectacular hat-trick.
On Saturday, Town entertain Newport City with a 2.30pm kick-off.
