TOWN got off to a flying start in their reserve team fixture at Pen-y-Pound last Saturday.

Stephen Hollingsworth gave them an early lead and then Dan Jenkins struck an explosive first half hat-trick to give Town a comfortable interval lead.

To their credit the visitors were more determined in the second half and managed to score four themselves, but another brace from Jenkins saw Town claim three points for the first time this season.

The reserves are away at Risca Utd this Saturday (2.30pm).

Meanwhile Town’s first team fixture away at AFC Porth, fell victim to the weather with the pitch at Porth waterlogged, denying Town the chance of a run-out before their important Welsh Cup clash with local rivals, Panteg AFC at Pen-y-Pound on Saturday (2.30pm).
