ABERGAVENNY Town FC’s Chairman, Rob Francis, is on the mend and returning to action with his beloved club after suffering a heart attack at the beginning of May.

Rob commented, “It’s great to have recovered in time to play a part in our pre-season preparations, and I am looking forward to becoming more active following cardiac rehabilitation, which will begin soon.”

Rob added, “I must thank all my football colleagues who worked so hard at Pen-y-Pound Stadium, when I was ill, to keep the club on an even keel during a very busy part of the season.

“I would also like to thank everyone at the Cardiac Care Unit in Nevill Hall Hospital for the fantastic care I received during my stay, and also my wife Sheila, my son Richard and his partner Jordan, for their unending support.”

Abergavenny Town FC start their pre-season matches on Friday evening entertaining Rhayader Town FC from the Mid-Wales League. Kick off is 7.30pm.
