WITH Abergavenny Town’s first team fixture at Garden Village postponed because of a waterlogged pitch, the focus turned to the club’s reserve side and their fixture with Cwmbran Celtic at Pen-y-Pound.

The match did not disappoint.

Goals from Nathan Davies, George Clarke, Lloyd Walker, Tom Jenkins and a stunning header from Curtis Methven sealed an emphatic victory for Town.

Town now leapfrog their opponents in the table and rise to fourth place.

The spotlight now turns to the end of the week, and the first in a sequence of Friday night matches for the first team. First up, Town entertain AFC Llwydcoed with a 7.30pm kick-off.
