Port Talbot Town FC - 1

Town go into the hat for the quarter final draw of the League Cup after overcoming their higher division opponents at Pen-y-Pound Stadium last Saturday.

Town started brightly but had to wait until four minutes from the break before Craig Norman coolly picked his spot and slotted past Nick Lewis in Port Talbot’s goal.

After the break Port Talbot, who were giving a debut to their latest signing Antony Rawlings from Goytre United, withdrew Oliver Bowen, replacing him with elder brother Luke and the WPL veteran soon made his mark netting after eight minutes.

Port Talbot’s joy lasted only three minutes as Sean Feeley let fly with a thunderbolt from the edge of the box to restore Town’s advantage.

Nick Lewis was left red-faced just after the hour when he advanced outside of his area and was dispossessed by Dane Griffiths who pressed forward and netted from a narrow angle, to cement what was a comfortable win for the Town, who return to league action on Saturday entertaining Croesyceiliog FC at Pen-y-Pound with a 2pm kick-off.
