Bettws FC - 0
TOWN’S away fixture to Cwm Welfare, at Beddau, near Pontypridd, fell victim to the weather last Saturday, but Town were in action the previous Wednesday evening putting Bettws to the sword in a big way.
The writing was on the wall for Bettws almost from the kick off when Town fired ahead after only three minutes when the home ‘keeper Jonathon Davies got a hand to a Craig Norman shot, but failed to stop the ball crossing the line.
Dean Morgan doubled Town’s lead on eight minutes, and when Craig Norman went on a solo run from his own half to slot past Davies, Bettws were three goals in arrears after only 12 minutes. Richard Jeremiah inflicted more pain on the home side with a subtle flick which beat Davies as Town enjoyed a 4-0 interval lead.
Bettws to their credit never gave up, and it took a superb save by Tom Indge from a blistering drive to keep his goal intact, but Bettws were undone again when an astute pass through to Dan Jenkins saw the striker use all of his pace to outstrip the defence and round the ‘keeper to score.
After this three point haul, Town find themselves locked in a four-way dogfight for supremacy in Division Three.
On Saturday, Town travel to play Team Swansea in the fourth round of the FAW Trophy (2.00pm). A supporters’ coach leaves Pen-y-Pound at 11am.
