FOR the second Saturday running, Town’s fixture fell victim to the weather, with Treowen’s Bush Park pitch declared unplayable, due to heavy overnight rain.

This postponement robbed second placed Town the chance of closing the gap on league leaders Pontypridd Town.

However they will not have to wait long for another chance as they entertain the leaders at Pen-y-Pound on Saturday (2.30pm).

A club spokesman said, “We trail Pontypridd by ten points but have three games in hand over them, so a win on Saturday changes the picture dramatically.”

Town’s reserve side were also out of action on Saturday with a sickness bug destroying their local derby with Goytre. They have no fixture this weekend.
