ABERGAVENNY Town continued to warm up for their forthcoming league season with a pre-season victory against Spar Mid-Wales Division One side Llandrindod Town.

Llandrindod who were relegated from the Huws Grays Cymru Alliance at the end of last season are still a formidable outfit, but it was the other Town who exerted the early pressure and this was underlined when Dan Jenkins put Abergavenny ahead on 25 minutes.

Aaron Norman who was to go on and score a hat trick added another after 36 minutes to give Town a 2-0 half time lead.

Early into the second half the unfortunate Chris Murphy saw the ball rebound off his knee giving Llandrindod’s keeper Joe Prosser no chance as Town went three ahead, and on 82 minutes Aaron Norman settled matters grabbing his second.

More Norman joy came two minutes later as he hammered home from the penalty spot, after live-wire Jamie Laurent was brought down in the box, to complete his hat trick.

Llandrindod bagged a late consolation goal in the final minute.

On Saturday there is a double header at Pen-y-Pound with both games against Cwmbran Celtic. Town’s reserve side kick off against their counterparts at 12 noon whilst the first teams are in action at 3pm.
