Risca United FC - 2

ABERGAVENNY Town came out on top against Risca in a well attended Friday night fixture at Pen-y-Pound.

Town took an early lead through a Sean Feeley goal, but Risca equalised through Tom Pratt on the nine minute mark.

Town regained the lead just after the half-hour with a trademark header from Dan Jenkins which gave Risca’s ‘keeper Tom Chorisy no chance.

They went further ahead just before the half-time whistle when the in-form Feeley blasted his second of the match.

Risca pulled a goal back, five minutes into the second half, and just after Town had the opportunity to extend their lead except for a terrific block by Risca’s Shane Parry.

However Town did secure the points ten minutes from time. Chorisy dwelt on the ball before being dispossessed, leaving Nathan Davies to fire into an empty net from just outside the box.

The match was sponsored by Jason Brown who selected Sean Feeley as the man of the match. On Saturday Town travel to Llantwit Major for a 2pm kick-off.

Meanwhile Town’s reserve side continued their marvellous run, notching their seventh consecutive win under Josh Williams in a 1-4 win at Chepstow Town with goals from Tom Jenkins, Ben Bannon, Callum Evans and Ross Stokes. They too are away on Saturday travelling to Treharris Athletic.
