MEMBERS of Abergavenny Rhinos junior football club recently visited Twin town Beaupréau to celebrate the 30th twinning anniversary.

The weekend was an opportunity for Abergavenny Rhinos and FC Beaupréau to spend some time together after forming a club link three years ago.

Rhinos Head Coach Simon Mansfield said, “Everyone at Abergavenny Rhinos is extremely proud that we were able to represent our town at such a important occasion. It was a fantastic feeling watching football bring both our young players and communities together. The welcome we experienced is something we will not forget in a hurry.

“Our young footballers were impressive in their matches against FC Beaupreau and other local French teams. They were an absolute credit to the town in the way they conducted themselves.”

Mansfield added, “We are all looking forward to welcoming our friends from FC Beaupreau next year to continue the 30th anniversary celebrations in Abergavenny.”
