Cardiff City Women - 1

Abergavenny Women - 1

A TIGHT game was always on the cards between Aber and the Bluebirds but after dominating long periods of the game the visitors came away thinking they had let two points slip through the net.

Ten minutes in and Abergavenny were denied what they considered a clear penalty.

Soon after Kate Jeremiah spurned a golden opportunity when firing at the keeper. Cardiff themselves struck the bar as the two teams went into the break locking horns at 0-0.

Abergavenny turned up the heat in the second-half as a Lyndsey Davies strike bounced off the bar. Moments later Cardiff hit Aber on the break to take the lead with 35 minutes left on the clock.

Abergavenny stayed positive and Kate Jeremiah hit a sublime 40 yard pass to take out five Cardiff players and put Lyndsey Davies clean through on goal to level the scores.

Abergavenny went in search of a winner and were denied twice by the opposition keeper. A little more composure would’ve probably won them the game.

The two teams meet again in a fortnight at Pen-y-Pound in the league cup quarter final for what promises to be an epic clash.
