THE Heads of the Valleys Tang Soo Do Martial Arts club entered the regional tournament in Ebbw Vale Sports Centre earlier this month and returned with an impressive medal haul.

The club took a team of 28 students to compete as part of the Welsh team at the Ebbw Vale Sports Centre, alongside 360 other competitors from all over the UK.

The group consisted of students of all ages and grades including a healthy number of new starters who have joined the club in the last six months.

The whole team competed to a high standard and took home a total of 35 trophies, which comprised of 10 Gold, 10 Silver, and 15 Bronze.

The club’s instructor Angus Rogers took three Gold medals in Weapons (Sword), and Forms and Free Sparring in the Senior Black Belt division, earning him the title of National Grand Champion 2018.

The club’s success can only be attributed to their purpose built location, which has now over 60 members training in the traditional Korean art of Tang Soo Do.
