ABERGAVENNY Squash Club’s ‘E’ team played the ‘D’ team, and not surprisingly lost by five matches to nil. However, it was a thoroughly enjoyable event, with all matches being very competitive. The ‘E’ team remain in last place, but the ‘D’ team climbed to the heady heights of third place. However, a number of teams below them have matches in hand.
The ‘B’ team lost a tough match against Cardiff Metropolitan by four matches to one. Only Gareth Hughes-Jones was able to win his match. The team remain in sixth place.

The ‘C’ team lost by four matches to one against Caldicot ‘B’. The team was boosted by the return of Carl Whiteman, who won his match comfortably. Both Peter Steed and Matthew Thomas performed valiantly, just losing hard fought matches. The team remain in last place.

On the same night, the ‘A’ team lost a close match 3-2 to Cardiff ‘A’. The highlight of the night proved to be the performance of Ellis Lawrence, who was playing his first match of the season for the team. He won convincingly, and was ably supported by Steve Williams, who had a comfortabe win. The team remain in fifth place.
